I don't know if this is helpful, but it is surmised that Guisbert or Gilbert
Giberson was burired at the Old Yellow Meting House Church just outside of Allentown NJ. My interest in this family stems from the marriage of
Hannah Giberson to John
Everingham on July 11, 1761. John
Everingham died or disappeared by the time that
Hannah Giberson Everingham re-married to a Lewis
Chapman in
Trenton NJ on April 16, 1777. It is assumed that
Hannah & John had children, but we have no documentation of them. The closest we come is a Gilbert
Everingham from
Pennsylvania who fought on the American side in the Revolution. If anyone had documentation on the children of
Hannah & John
Everingham I would be very appreciative in receiving that info.
The other reason I have an interest in this family is that part of the
Giberson family consisted of Patriot ship captains & sailors, out of Tuckerton &
Toms River NJ as early as the mid 1700s. It is an assumption of mine that The
Everingham family and the Gibersons had a close sailing relationship that continued after the death of John
Everingham (who may have been lost at sea). There is actually documentation of a
Giberson who was a ship captain buried at the Old Yellow Meeting House somewhere in my files. In fact is assumed that the soldier Gilbert
Everingham (who most probably was a grandson of Guisbert
Giberson) prospered in the sea trade out of NY due in part to his
Giberson connections.
Again, any thoughts or documentation that you might have on
Hannah &
Johns children would be greatly appreciated.
