My grandmother, Bridget Dillon, was born in 1901 in Connolly, Co Clare, or nearby. Her parents were Patrick Dillon and Ellen McGuane. Her grandparents were Michael Dillon and Bridget Keane. I've now learnt that she had a sister-in-law, Margaret Mungovan, married to one of her brothers, Michael. The reason for this posting is that I have found some very old entries referring to all these surnames.

I have some information on my family and would be willing to share with anyone else researching these families.Bridget migrated to Australia, and died in 1942. I look forward to hearing from any long lost relatives.

Hello, Suzanne is it?

My name is Chris. thanks for your message. I know very little about my McGuane family. I do know that my great grandmother was Eleanor McGuane, known as Ellen or Nellie. She married my great grandfather, Patrick Dillon, about 1890 + in or near Ennis.

I have no real info on her at the moment, though I believe she was born in Inch. You can contact me directly at crissouli at (use symbol) yahoo.com.au

This seems to be part of my family. My grandmother was Nora McGuane born Co.Clare near Inagh in 1887. According to the Irish census of 1902 in the family house on census night there was Patrick McGuane 52 years, Mary McGuane (Cullinhan) 42, Patrick 17, Nora 14, Thomas 11 and Andrew 2 years. Nora died in Toowoomba Queensland in 1927. Patrick died in Mackay Queensladn in 1916. I understand Nora came to Australia on SS Perthshire in 1909 and originally settled in Rockhampton Queensland.

Hi Ellen, I'm sure they are... I have now had contact with Margaret (Mags) D.... your sister by any chance. I would love to be in touch, as there is so much I would like to know. Patrick and Ellen were my great grandparents, their daughter, Bridget, was my grandmother. You can contact me direct at

It is so good to 'meet' with family. My mother was Bridget's youngest daughter. Bridget died when Mum was just 11. Mum died 30 years ago and there are just her 2 sisters left. Her brother died a while back now. I would love to hear from you.

Chris
