I am in Australia which makes research in Germany very difficult.

I would like to find a MARRIAGE between Sophie/Sophia ZIESENITZ and surname GROTTHART sometime around 1840's.

(Possibly in the Hanover area.)

Sophia GROTTKAST arrived in Australia 1849 and I am wondering if she may have been a widow as she bears some children here in Australia using that (and var. spellings) as her maiden name, she marries in 1854 using GROTTHART as her maiden name, she then goes on to have 5 children using ZIESENITZ (var. spellings)as her maiden name.

Can anyone help with looking for a Marriage between ZIESENITZ/GROTTKAST etc. approx. 1840's, births of any children and maybe even a DEATH for husband of this family if found.....?

Fingers crossed.....

Barb, unfortunately, vital statistics in Germany have always been kept at the local town level, so without an exact place of birth, you will not find a baptism. You certainly won't find a birth record in any event, as these did not become commonplace until about 1879.
