I have very little on the Dodsons, but think they came to Tn from KY; I have a Thomas
Vittetoe, son of Wm H. b about 1825 md to a Mary A. Dodson, born abt 1817, md 1846; also a Wm
Dodson md to a Frances
Vittetoe 12/23/1847; both marriages were in
Grainger Co and the info was taken from
Grainger Co Marriage book. I haven't done any work on the Dodson's, as I have not connected my
Vittetoe line to Thomas and Susan, although I'm sure they are related. Only 8
Vittetoe families in that area in 1850, so I know they've got to be at least cousins if not brothers, and probably sons of Thomas.
I have info on the line of Steven Stokley
Vittetoe, s/o Thomas and Susannah
Dodson Vittetoe, think they were md in Pulaski, KY in 2/1812; they are in
Grainger Co in the 1850 census
There are quite a few Vittetoe-Acuff marriages as well in Grainger,
Union County. If you want any information on them be glad to share. Hope this is of use to you. Would you please share any
Vittetoe info you have with me?
