Am searching for descendents of homesteaders living north of Watauga South Dakota, in Sioux County. Watauga is located about 1 mile from the North Dakota border, and when the first homesteaders located there, it was still Morton County

I see by the message you posted that DYBINGS is one of the names you are serching. My family had friends, Charlie and Stella DYBINGS in Seatlle and Fort Yates ND. My father was a farm agent on the reservation and I was born in Fort Yates in 1936.

My grandmother Sophia Dybing bought a farm outside of Watauga in 1917. Grandfather Dybing had died when they owned a homestead in Presho, SD. Decendents of grandmother and grandfather Dybing's ten children now live all over the U.S. Grandmother sold the Watauga farm sometime after 1924 and initially moved with her new husband to California. Have any other family members contacted you? A lot of information about the family in the U.S and Norway is available. Another message mentioned Charles and his wife Stella Dybing. Charles was a son of Sophia and her first husband.

I have not been able to contact any of the Dybings yet. I am interested in any information you would want to share.
