I have very little to go on.He would have been my childrens grand-dad.I know that the son John Cody died in jail as a young man,supposedly hung himself or in a fire, not quite sure.His son Glenn and daughter Carolyn are passed on now. Carolyn was married to a man by the name of John T.White and lived in DeVals Bluff.I think that James had even been a sherriffs deputy at one time. I feel as though I am looking for a needle in a haystack.Is there any way of searching prison records? At the time he went to prison, he gave the custody of his children Mike,Judy, and Glenn to his sister Pearl Holt who was married to a an named John Cody Zanola.

Yes but in order to find him, I'm fairly sure we are going to need a specific date as well. A year, even a decade. Your messages are entirely within dating. We don't know if this man would be 50 or 150 you see? We don't know how old you are, or your husband was, or anything. So it's hard to search a range of 1850 to 1960. Try to narrow down the issue to a particular time frame.
