Many of my mother's ancestors lived around the West Baton Rouge Parish area paricularly those with the following surnames: Babin, Blanchard, Bourg, Brun, Cazes, Chustz, Doiron, Dupuy, Hebert, LaBauve, LeJeune, Longuepee, Templet. Some of these paricularly, Babin and Hebert and possibly Doiron and Templet, originated in Acadia. Some went to St. Malo, France after their expulsion from Acadia. Later they immigrated to Louisana. I would very much like to hear from anyone researching these genealogies.

Actually I'm not sure of all of the families that may have come from St-Malo. I think I've got Templet and Doiron covered. I'll take a few shots in the dark. Here are a few couples who may have come from St-Malo: Charles (maybe Jean Charles) Dupuy and Marguerite Bourg, Jean Baptiste Longuepee and Modeste LeJeune, Modeste LaBauve (wife of Joseph Doiron), Anne Quemine (wife of Simon Babin), Maguerite LeBlanc (wife of Andre Templet).

I wrote the family histories of Jacques Blanchard and Ambroise Bourg for West Baton Rouge Families which was recently published by the West Baton Rouge Genealogical Society in Port Allen. This book may be of help to you.

I have data on the LONGUEPIE Family who arrived in West Baton Rouge Parish in Louisiana in 1785. Please e-mail me if you'd like the data.

I would like to correspond with anyone researching the WILLIAM GIBSON Family of West Baton Rouge. The five children were born in Kentucky between 1791 and 1799, and were all baptised in 1803 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Thanks.

In 1978, I was honored to meet Uncle Alcee Seguin before his death. As a result his daughter, Happy Seguin sent me quite a bit of Seguin genealogy for my children, (they are Seguins). I will be glad to share this info. I am trying to compile all descendants of Joseph Seguin and would be happy to and your family to this database.
