I am looking for information on a village called Chorlin, it was near Minsk. Wilhilmina Ludke who was married to Adolf C Reddig lived there with her children before coming to the US through Hamburg in 1911, Adolf had arrived in the US in 1903. Any information would be helpful.

The only thing that looks like it is Cherlena - 200 km away from Minsk. No other clues, right? A neighbor village, a church or a forest?

The only information listed on the Ellis Island records for my family lists Chorlin, Russia. My great-great-grandparents and their children came from there. I have also found another family who has someone with the same last name as my great-great-grandmother, they have relatives that came from Chorlin, Russia, but they are from Brazil and I don't understand Portuguese. This is the webpage I found with some information on it. http://www.marquardt.com.br/hist_marq4.htm

According to Google translate the Portugese Chorlin was near Minsk. I have found two places in Minsk Gubernia that look like it (given that Chorlin is not 100 per cent accurate transcription of the village name):

Minsk Gubernia,
Bobruisk Uezd,
Cherninskaya Volost,
Chernin Village (depending on how you read it in Russian it could have been Chornin)

Minsk Gubernia,
Borisov Uezd,
Koshino-Slobodksaya Volost,
Korolin Village (again the letter "K" could have been transcribed with "CH" and the word distorted)

I guess only an archive look-up for Marquardt and Luedke surnames will give us a hint)
