Searching for Moore (More, Moor) in Shelby Co., IL. They came in the 1840s from Greene Co., IN and Cumberland Co., KY. Some names were Shadrack, Sidwell, Joseph (Josiah), Hanford, John, Stephen, Burgess, Granderson (Grandison) Dick, Calvin. They intermarried with the Bunch family a lot. A James T. Bunch married Mary Anne Moore in Linn Co., KS in 1859.

Noticed your message from 2001. Am interested in the Bunch family of Shelby County. My GGgrandfather was Haywood who lived with his brother Joel in 1860. They show coming from IN and Haywood was the only one born in IL. Can you tell me what info you have on Joel and his family/ parents.

I do not know who Joel Bunch was. I thought he was a relative of mine beings he was living with my ancestor, Joseph Moore and wife Frances (Bunch) in 1850 in Shelby Co., IL. Joel's wife has apparently died and he has six children. These Moores went on to MO. I see a Haywood Bunch in 1860 in Shelby 12years (b1848). He is with James Bunch, and Biddy Bunch. Biddy had married Israel Bunch who died. Israel was from Greene Co., IN and probably Cumberland Co., KY, probably son of Israel, Sr. I doubt that this Haywood is the brother of Joel as Joel was born 1810. When was your Haywood born? Do you know any other siblings? Julie

Sorry, I got confused when I asked the first time. That Haywood is the one I'm looking for. I've seen the 1860 census and I figure that his brother was James, the one he's living with in 1860.(James age 22 and Haywood age 12.) I find James again in 1850 as son of Joel still in Shelby Co but Haywood is not with him. Trying to determine who Haywoods parents are but not having mush luck.
