I am looking for any information or any descendants of Benjamin F. Wood and his wife Melissa Wilson , who are buried in Green Hill Cemetery.
One daughter was Margaret Lucinda Wood, who married T.H. Green I, and after his death she married James Sloan from Clark County, Arkansas. Margaret is buried in the Sloan Cemetery in Clark County.
Margaret had one son by T.H. Green I, and that son is buried at Green Hill also, Theodore Hall Green II.

Wanda, Do you have any approximate dates for these people? I have Woods and Wilsons from Titus Co. Benjamin F. and Lucinda are common names in my ancestry. I am from Rev. James Willson of Troup Co. and Carroll Co., GA. Two of his grandsons, John Walter Willson and William Cameron Willson, Jr. moved to Titus Co. in the late 1800's. Their uncle, John Dodsos Willson and his wife,

Hello,
I know this is a long shot and your query is very old, but what the heck. I have been looking for info on my gggreatgrand-parents for such a long time. I just saw a query you posted quite a long tine ago mentioning that you had Benjamin F. Green and Lucinda 's that were common in your family history. Perhaps you could assist me. Here goes.....

My gggf Benjamin Franklin Green m Lucinda E. Getsinger b. in SC (listed on recordss as C. E. Getsinger) in GA. Family supposedly lived in GA and ended up in TX. Benjamin d and is buried in Lufkin, Angelina, TX in 1917. If you could give me any info on either of these people, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeanette Phillips

Unable to find record for Abraham and M. Jane in 1870.

I am inclined to believe that Benjamin F Green/Greene was not born in SC as indicated on the 1880 census but was born in Georgia as indicated on the 1900 and 1910 records.

Benjamin may have been the son of Benjamin F Green/Greene who is located in Greene County, GA in 1860 and 1870 on the assumption they were enumerated in these census years. You indicate you have knowledge of the marriage between Benjamin and Lucinda but did not state where. Was it in Greene County GA?

It appears that Benjamin followed the Getsinger's to Texas and Benjamin Green, Sr., stayed in Greene County. I was not able to find this particular Getsinger/Getzinger family in the 1870, 1860 or 1850 records. Ellen/Eleanor Getsinger was in Smith County in 1900 while son John W had moved to Trinity County.

Thank you so very much for all the info you have sent to me. Right I do have the marriage info -- it was in GA, Morgan Co I think (don't have it with me here right now). I have been searching for info on Ben F and his ancestry for a long time and wasn't able to find anything (he has been one of those brick walls one encounters in genealogy). You have been very helpful and I do appreciate it greatly. If you might have further info on this, please e-mail me directly at customauto@direcway.com and I will get back with you.
Again, thanks so much for the info.
Yours truly,
Jeanette Phillips
