Chandler, 69, died during his sleep at his home at 1018 South Fourth Street Friday morning. Mrs. Chandler prepared breakfast after she returned from a night shift at the cannery, and when she went to his room to awaken him, found he had been dead for some time.
Funeral services were held from the Rogg &
Watson chapel Monday at 2:30 p.m. with a minister of the Seventh Day Adventist church of
College Place officiating, and burial was made at the
Dayton cemetery.
Born in Sioux City, Iow, September 14, 1877,
Chandler came here about 50 years ago, and for many years engaged in farming on the South
Touchet. For some time he has had a home in town.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gertrude
Hearn Chandler, Dayton; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Kietch and Mrs. Wilma
Nickerson of
Vancouver, Wash.
