Fannie Alice Salkill McMonigle died on July 15, 1903. She was married to Daniel E McMonigle died 1933. We were told they died at the same time.....murdered and all they children were farmed out to relatives. They have been listed as living in Payneville, KY and New Amsterdam, Harrison County, IN..

So I am not sure why Grandmother said both her parents were murdered......but it was not true. Fannie may have been.....but I can not find any info online to solve this mystery. My grandmother didn't see her sibling again for 50 yrs when reunited.

If you have information of what might have happen that caused Fannies Death, it would be appreciated.

I noticed the discussion on Daniel E. McMonigle and Fannie Alice Salkill. Daniel was a brother of my grandfather, Henry Fairly McMonigle. The Daniel/Fannie relationship has always been somewhat of a mystery in my research.
My research indicates she was born in Meade County, Kentucky rather than Harrison County but my sources were not a primary sources and I made an assumption. One source showed she was born at "Sirocco, Kentucky." This happends to be where Daniel's parents were living at the time.
I show she married Daniel E. McMonigle on "December 20, 1888" in Harrison County, Indiana. In addition the four children you reported, they had a son John D. McMonigle, born 12 Jul 1902 and died 7 Sep 1922. He was killed in a tree cutting accident. I have his obituary.
It is ironic that Fannie is rumored to have been "murdered." There is also a rumor in my McMonigle family line that my grandfather, Henry, killed Daniel E. McMonigle even though it was ruled a suicide.
I show Fannie's mother as "Margaret Huffman" but researchers have disagreed on this one.

Hello David,
I found John D. after I posted my findings. It was an interesting, albeit sad, search with no answers to the question of how Fannie died. All of the dates and available records leave little doubt Fannie is Margaret Huffman's daughter. I truly wish the rest of the story was as easy to see. Ron's Salkill line has tested us many times.... and continues to do so.
