Alabama Payne, born in 1832. I have Wabash Indiana and she died in 1898. Married Mar. 13, 1852 to Hamilton (Hamp) Crockett DICKEY, 1829-1880. Her father was named Enos Payne. Do not know where he was born, Or who the mother was. Don't know where he is buried. Some researchers did not think she was born in Indiana and wanted to know where I got my information. I am sure it came from a DICKEY researcher. It is necessary to find out where she actually was from. Does anyone know about her at all.

I think this is the same line I am researching. Here's what I know so far:
Enos Payne babt 1814 Tennessee?? (Phillip Matthews Payne from VA b 29 May 1790/) d. 22 Feb 1849
M1. ??
M2. Elizabeth Curtis Payne ??? d. 22 Feb 1849
Alabama Payne b.1836
Enos H. Payne(1) b. 1854
M. Priscilla (Precilla/Pricella) McCutcheon (McCutchin) (1) married in Newton County
John Wesley Payne b. 1841
Reuben Easton Payne b. 1853 m. Nancy Percilla McCutchen
Phillip Rudolph (Randolph)Payne(2) b. 1839 married in Newton County 1858
m. Mary Elizabeth or Polly McCutcheon(McCutchin)Payne (daughter of Ezekiel Norris McCutcheon Age 62 in 1870 census/Nancy Melvina Hale)

My line is from Alabama's brother, Phillip. I've lost track of him somewhere in the civil war. Brother Enos died in Fayetteville, AR about the time of the battle of Pea Ridge. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other info and I willsend you whatever I find out.

Hoping to tie-into your Payne line.
My g-grandfather was John Wesley Payne.b.1841 Indiana
his mother was Elizabeth, I do not know his fathers name and that is where I'm stumped. John w Payne died in Chattanooga TN 1917 @ 32 Manning St.
JW Payne was in the Confederate Calvary, w/ Duckworth
He was married to Emiline Malone on Aug, 25, 1875,from Loudon County,TN
I have their lineage from that time forward.

My husband's family is Phillip's Randolph Payne, Alabama's brother. I can send you what I have if you like but if you look in Conway ,Arkansas when these kids were born there is a Archelus Payne, with son Jonathan. These Payne's are from South Carolina and Georgia. Most went to Alabama and Miss ,,,They are somehow related to Enos although I was told Enos was born in Tennessee and his father Va.I have copied documents where Alabama's husband Hamp Dickey and other siblings sues for Enos's land. Enos was in the Union military and spent a short period of time in Kentucky. He was rewarded land all over Arkansas for time served. I have most records. Most researchers feel Enos had two wives and the fourth and fifth child were by second wife. Anyway anyhting I have you are welcome to , Thank you Deb Biggs
