Hi Chris,
In searches that I have been performing to find a connection to Rachel Pitzer/John
Sigler and Rachel Pitzer/Samuel
Irwin (different eras but probably grandmother/granddaughter or great-aunt/great-niece) I have run across numerous sources of which you ask. Some conflict with the info in your search.
I do not know what sources you have used so some of this you may already know; but here it is.
From LDS records [
www.familysearch.org] there is a John
Pitzer that married an Elizabeth
Madison (
Kistner) and mentions
Botetourt Co. Va. There are 12 children listed (1 twice with same birth year), the youngest of which was
Carey A. Pitzer.
Two sources from the WorldConnect Project [worldconnect.rootsweb.com] show an Elizabeth
Madison married to John
Pitzer, both of which show the same children as LDS. They are {twhiting} and {nelliblu28}. Nelliblu28 shows Elizabeth Madison's parents as f: John
Madison and m:
CLAIBORNE and also lists
Carey A. twice.
Of these 2 sources and 3
Carey A.'s they all show his wife to be
Lucinda Goode. Out of curiosity I pulled up Martha Ann
Fury and according to a WorldConnect page {jimmyk418} she married George
Pitzer. Her f: Robert
Fury b: abt 1797 in NC and m: Ellenor
Bostick b: 1796 in
Monroe Co., VA. They were married 7-19-1847 in
Monroe County, WV. I thought WV ceded from VA in 1853 but I may be wrong - or there may be a
Monroe Co. in each state.
Additionally I have found through Ancestry World Tree [
www.ancestry.com] a Rachel
Pitzer (that I believe to be my elder Rachel) married to a John
Sigler, but with different siblings which do not include a
Carey. Her f: John
Pitzer, Sr. and m: Elizabeth (
Kistner?). John Sr.s parents, f:
Ulrich Pitzer and m: Mary UNKNOWN.
To me it looks like there are definately connections for you within these pages as well as possibly for me but not being sure of the
Madison or
Kistner surname will make this task very messy. All sources I have mentioned are free with the exception of Ancestry World Tree (some parts are free but I believe the parts that I accessed were only available since I subscribe).
If in your searches you happen to run across a Rachel
Pitzer b: 1813 d: 1896 with parents mentioned please let me know.
Somewhere in my basement I have a picture of a Rachel
Seigler who I now assume to have been the wife of John
Sigler. When I find the picture and have it digitized I will email you a copy if you are interested; just let me know and I will make a note of it.
Good luck,
Rick
