Looking for the Carl Ingelson or Engelson family. They moved from Fillmore County, MN to Adams County. According to my records, Carl was born Dec. 25, 1875 and died Nov. 1950. A photo label near Reeder shows an early homestead with Carl, his wife and a child. The wife and child are on two work horses. His homestead of 160 acres in Lightning Creek Township was recorded on April 14, 1913. He is also listed on the 1917 plat map index.

Don

I got a letter from Helga and then called her today. It looks like this family died out but thanks for the note. This is the latest information I have.

Carl Ingelson: b. Dec. 25, 1875, d. Nov. 1950. He m. Hilda, b. in Norway abt. 1878. In the 1910 census they are living in Reeder Township of Adams Co., ND. A photograph of a homesteader shack is labeled near Reeder. The photo shows his wife and a child. This Reeder is in Adams County, ND near Hettinger. On April 14, 1913 he homesteaded 160 acres and is shown on the 1917 plat map with 160 acres in Lightning Creek Township of Adams County. (Township 129N, Range 98W) His wife died about 1914 or 1915 and likely their child about the same time. Their tombstone in the Rose Hill Cemetery says Carl Ingelson’s wife and child. In about 1931 or 1932 Carl moved to live with Ole Winje about two miles west of his farm. In 1940 Ole moved to Reeder because of his health and Carl moved with him. When Ole died in 1942, Carl rented a room in the Reeder Hotel. Carl was still alive and in Reeder on 4 Dec. 1941.

you and i emailed a few years ago. i was doing the davidson tree and Hilda was part of it. you were researching choice area. you said you had seen a photo of Carl and Hilda and a child. is there some way to get a copy of the photo? also, hilda's niece lived with her a while after her mother died. i havent been able to track her other than she married a man named evan lombard and moved to oregon. i doubt i have anything to offer you on the Davidsons and Flattums, but ask, if you can think of anything. my books are pretty complete now.

Did you ever find the information you were looking for on Ingelson? My father, Don Walch, died in 2005. He had a map of the cemetery in Adams County. Funny, I was just there the other day...at the Rosehill Cemetery....but a rattlesnake got me to leave kind of quickly or I would have been happy to research the names you were looking for. My daughter just alerted me about your query. Also I think someone told you about Helga Nelson. She also died several years ago.
