The
Washington Death Certificate Index shows Charles
Alva Hodshire died 23 October 1927 in
Davenport,
Lincoln County, at age 66 years, 2 months and 23 days (about 1861, August 1, or July 31). His wife was Mary
Winslow Hodshire, Father James
Hodshire, Mother Susan Brown.
And, as you found the 1930 Census shows Mary still living in
Davenport.
While obits in that time frame were not as common as today, a minister of the community may have inspired one. In the 20's, most obit's were written by reporters on the famous, imfamous or victims of homicide or accidents. Most families did not want to spend the funds as anyone that knew them would know anyway...
BUT, I'd look for an obit. If one is found, it "might" show where he was buried:
