Hello Stacey, I just saw your query on Family History concerning the
Adkins family.
I have done family history on my own family and in trying to find something about my brother's wife, who is an
Adkins, I find that she knows very little about her ancestors. This is what we know or think we know. Her grandfather was Elic
Adkins, wife Mary
Easterling. Her father was Charlie. He had a brother, Bill (I guess William), a sister, Lula. She said her dad was from a larger family than that. I also found the marriage license for John
Adkins to
Cora Picklesimer in the
Carter County,
KY. courthouse. John was born in
Morgan County and
Cora was from
Johnson County KY. Lula
Adkins also stated on her marriage license that she was born in
Morgan County KY--she married Floyd
Blevins. My sister-in-law knew about Lula but had never heard of John.
Both of them listed the same parents, so I assume they were brother and sister. If you know anything about this family, I would be very appreciative for any information. Also if you need me to check anything at the courthouse for you, I'd be glad to the next time I'm there. As I said, I'm just getting started on the
Adkins line, so any information would be great.
