I have some information on the Elim church and cemetery. Are you still looking? Also info on Barkdales from "Following The Trail" and "Our Burnley Ancestors and Allied Families".

I'm also looking for information about the church. I'm looking for any info about the family of Lewis JACKSON. I believe they were founding members. Perhaps even a mention of his death (1849-1850).

Lewis Jackson is mentioned in the Warren County Deed Book "Y" page402. You will need to pull the book to read the details, but it appears that his land was sold on 23Nov1850 after his death. The attorney handing the sale was William W. Anderson. There are several Jackson's mentioned in "History of Warren County Georgia 1793-1974". Rosa Jackson shows as the first to be baptized abt 1882 at the Cody Grove Baptist Church. Nothing that I have uncovered about the Elim Baptist Church lists any Jacksons as members.
Lewis Jackson was appointed Constable for his district 10Feb1824 and again 17Feb1825.
On 14May1851 Edward H. Pottle was the trustee for the heirs of Lewis Jackson, p177 "Warren County Records & Returns 1849-1853"

There are several other court house records for Lewis Jackson

Hi,

Re: the book you reference on the BURNLEY and allied families, I'd be interested to know if the SIMMONS surname is mentioned. It appears my SIMMONS line were neighbors of the BURNLEY family in Wilkes (later Warren), Georgia as early as 1787.
