Looking for any further information on J. Russll Jones and Ella Jane Mason. In Washington Marriages 1802-1902 Found marriage July 6, 1878 (license dated Jul 5, 1878) in Columbus in Klickitat County, Washington Territory.

Ella Jane Mason was born in 1853-54 in Washington County, New York and is reported to have been a school teacher.

Cannot find either one of these people after this date.

One family tree owned by "Feagin" identifies Ella Jane Mason, born about 1851 in New York, daughter of Aaron P. Mason (1818-1852) and Elvina Jessie Falkenbury (Van Valenburg) 1830-Aft 1892 in Marion Co, Arkansas. Elvina married Aaron Mason about 1849, had daughter 1850, Ella Jane 1851 and Franklin Aaron Mason, 1852. After death of Aaron, she married James H. Graham abt 1857 in IL. Son Franklin, born NY, died 25 Jan 1898 in Seba, Benton Co, AR.

BUT...I don't see any proof that this Ella is the same one having the marriage record in WA State. Unless your marriage reference identified her as being a school teacher born in New York.

Nothing really shows in the US, Canada?
An Ella Jane Jones, age 74, died 9/15/1943 in Cranbrook, British Columbia. This age, however, would put this person's birth about 1868/1869.

Amelia Jones, wife, born Aug 28, 1850.
--No way to determine if this is the correct Russel. This Amelia, with the usual errors in Census, could have had a different year of birth; but was Amelia, Ella? Probably not. There was an Amelia Jones, age 80, died 4/11/1929 in Duncan, BC, she could be this person, or not.

I checked the Canadian Census and book links also.

Brother Franklin was an editor. When he died, obituaries were not common. A "true obituary" was written by a newspaper reporter about the rich, famous, infamous, victims of crime or accident. But, he being an editor, "might" have caused a written article about him in the local news. While the location of his sister, may or may not, have been published. Ella, may or many not have been living near him. Her mother's death should also be checked for any records. Her father having died in 1852 is probably not of help.

Thanks for the response but I should have been more specific. I have done extensive research on the Mason family and have found all the information that you have listed. I do have an Obituary on Frank Mason and I've traced Franklin's lineage back to his great-great grandfather and have all of Franklin's descendants as well. The obituary does not say anything about a mother or sister. Ella Jane has been the elusive one. I got my infomation on Ella Jane from Feagin as well and I have been going on that assumption but have not been able to prove that. I guess I will go back to Arkansa and see if I can locate her there. I've tranced Elvina and her husband James Graham to 1892 in Marion County, Arkansas but have not been able to find Many thanks for responding.
