I have some information regarding Kahaikupuna. Are you a descendant? My great great grandmother (a Kahaikupuna) had a brother named Henry probably born in the 1880ʻs. This could be Henry Sr. They were from Maui. Their father apparently was from the big island. This info was only passed down by word of mouth.

Surnames: Kahaikupuna, Brown, Sylva, Kekahuna
Aloha kakou, my info regarding Kahaikupuna is limited. All I know is that Kahaikupuna is the name of my greatx3 grandfather. He was the spouse (one of three known) of my greatx3 grandmother Eliza Loika Sylva. They had 4 children Emily (my greatx2 grandmother) Kahaikupuna Brown, Emma Ka'i Kahaikupuna Nailima, Sam Keliikamakala Kahaikupuna, and Henry K. Kahaikupuna. Eliza also had spouses name Haake and Kuoha.

Eliza Sylva's parents were Joseph Sylva and Helekunihi Kekahuna.

I don't know the first name if any of my Tutu Kahaikupuna. I believe he was from the island of Hawaii but cannot be sure. Tutu Slyva's side of the family I believe were from Peahi, Maui and maybe Honomanu. If you have any information to share, I would love it. Mahalo nui.

Aloha,

I found out what my Tutu Kahaikupuna's first name was. It was John (from Hawaii island) and he was married to Eliza Sylva of Peahi Maui. They either separated or he died because she had three other spouses (Haake and Kuoha).

This Henry Kahaikupuna in these posts is the brother of my Tutu Emily (John and Eliza's first child). Here the info I have on this.

Henry Kahaikupuna (sr.) married Ana Kalani Kakalia. Their children were Henry, Clarence, Jerry, Benjamin, and Ida. Only Henry and Benjamin had kids. I got this info from Clarence Kahaikupuna the only son of Benjamin Kahaikupuna and a Pearl Kaaihue.

Not sure where Jennie Keanini and Ana Pavao come into the picture. Edward Kalei Kahaikupuna, Kamahoahoa Haalilio Kahaikupuna, and Kai Kahaikupuna Nailima in addition to Emily were all brothers and sisters.

I would like to know how my Tutu John Kahaikupuna is connected to the big island ohana. Not sure who his parents or brother's or sisters were. I think we are also from the Paakahili Ohana. If anyone has info and would like to share please reply to this post.

Aloha no
