I am looking for anyone with information on the Leslie Lawrence family in California. It is believed that Leslie Lawrence was born 1904 in Wisconsin and produced 13 children with Margaret Hildred Blurton. The children... Leslie William, Cecil Allen, Barbara Ann, Paul Laverne, Shirley May, Beverly Jean, Leroy Thomas, James Lloyd, Dwight Philip, Ralph Lynn, Delores Rose, Calvin Ray, Lena Fay. My mother is one of them. Unfortunatly the family is spread all over the country and only a couple have stayed in contact with one another. Anyone with information on this family please contact me.

Yes this would be my family. I had the basic census' but you have a bit more information than I did , thank you. I am still hoping to make contact with some of the living Lawrence's but we'll see. Again thank you.

Have you used the telephone white pages on-line to look for your Lawrences? Have you checked the social security death records on Rootsweb to see if any of the folks have passed away? For instance, I found Cecil A Lawrence passed away March 13, 2002 and his last residence was Las Vegas, NV.

Yep I have tried both, but thanks. Cecil was one of the few that kept in contact with my mom. I have birth dates for all the children and all were born in Los Angeles County, California. I have been told that Leslie William (Jr. aka Sonny) died but I can’t find any SS death info and my mom doesn’t know where, when or how. Dwight went missing and no one has seen or heard from him in decades, at least not that my mom is aware of. James is in either Idaho or Iowa last she heard. Leroy is in Iowa I believe and I have sent a letter out to his daughter, but haven’t heard back yet. If still alive, Ralph possibly lives in southern California but unknown where. Of course the sister’s are a bit harder to track due to getting married. I was told Beverly is deceased and Lena possibly still lives in the Lancaster, California area, but I don’t have a married name for her. I don’t have anything on Barbara or Shirley. My mom was one of the younger children so doesn’t remember much, especially about the older siblings. She was only about 4 when her mom divorced her father (of course can’t find that documentation either) and moved to Wisconsin with her new husband and several of the youngest children. I have photos of most of the boys in all different types of military uniforms (some I recognize, others I don’t. I’m still waiting to get with my dad and see if he knows what services they are.) I do know Paul was in the Navy and I am currently waiting for a reply back from him at an e-mail I was given. I have located an address (I believe thru the online white pages) for Calvin and sent him a letter a month ago, I’m still waiting to see if he or his wife replies, (was shocked that they lived only an hour and half from me). I have been told if I can get my uncle Paul to answer me he might be able to get me in contact with a few of the other brothers. In the mean time I keep looking where I can to get what little information I can, and I will take all the suggestions I can get. As well as hoping there are some Lawrence cousins here on Ancestry that will answer one of my posts.

There is a Beverly J Lawrence, born about 1940, who married a Gudmundu O Skarphedins, born about 1944, on 18 Apr 1979 in Los Angeles Co. A Beverly J Skarpedinss died Sept.28, 2005 in Lancaster, Los Angeles, with a birth date of Apr. 8, 1940, per the SSDI.

It appears Lena Faye Lawrence married James Ralph Enders. You might check in the white pages for these folks. Have you considered posting a query on the Lawrence board on http://genforum.genealogy.com/ The link to the Lawrence board is http://genforum.genealogy.com/lawrence/

Those are dates I got from my Mom's old family Bible

Only Difference with my Moms old family bible is:
George Lawrence married Rose
they had a son named William Lawrence.
And then from William E Lawrence to current seems to match.

So is this the correct tree?

I'm not finding a census entry that includes a Rose, with a George and a William. Perhaps Rose is a nickname. Someone would need to obtain William's death certificate, to see if the parents name are included.
