I'm another
Yee that was formerly living in the Philippines. I just recently migrated to
Arizona on 2006.
My grandfather was
Yee Hong
Pan. He was a native of Macau, a city in China that was formerly under Portuguese control, as Hong Kong is to
Britain. I don't know when he was born but I do know that he spoke Cantonese, just like any other people living in Macau. His father was
Yee Wing
Pao, and his mother was
Chan Park To. My grandfather migrated to the Philippines because of Communism as I was told (but I don't really know). He also left his first family in Macau when he left for the Philippines. He had his second family in the Philippines and he revisited Macau for his first family. So, the first and second family met in Macau. The first family was pure Chinese who don't know how to speak
English, the second family was an educated Filipino-Chinese, including my father. I'm part of the third generation starting from
Yee Hong
Pan. My father was
Yee Wei Won. My grandfather was a successful businessman in the Philippines. My grandfather died on 1991, and his business was closed on 2006, the year when we migrated since my father was the one running the business.
I know it's long, but it's just a summary. I'm hoping that this would give you a lead. Your
Yee family name may have started in Macau or any place nearby since hs spoke Cantonese, and my grandfather spoke Cantonese. There's a chance we may be a distant relative. GOOD
LUCK!!
