FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR FRED E. ROSS
Fred E. Ross, 38, who had operated a barber shop in Holyoke for the past eight years took his own life at his home at 11 A.M. Saturday morning by using a twelve gauge single barrel shot gun.

He came to Holyoke in 1938 from Akron, Colorado where he had spent most of his life.

He was united in marriage to Marie Ray of Brush, Colorado. Three sons were born to this union, Kenneth 16, Max 14, Paul 12.

Fred had served in the medical corps of the army for twenty-one months. Thirteen months of this time was spent in the South Pacific. He was called to service in February, 1944 and was discharged November 10, 1945. He was a loyal and active member of the Holyoke Post No. 90 of the American Legion.

He is mourned by his wife and three sons, Kenneth, Max and Paul. His mother Mrs. Harry Reese, his brother Randall and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Erickson, Mrs. Norma Haefer all of Akron, another brother Marian Ross of Richmond, California, two sisters, Mrs. Frances Baker of Denver and Mrs. Leona Rinker of Brush, Colorado. His father preceded him in death in 1936.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. Haruf officiating.

A mixed quartet composed of Guy L. Bereman, F.B. Kelly, Mrs. Gladys Shew and Mrs. C.R. Smythe, sang "Abide With Me" and the "Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. F.B. Kelly accompanied them on the piano.

Military services were conduced by the Holyoke Post No. 90 of American Legion.

Pallbearers were Chester Alberts, Woodrow McBee, Kenneth Wettstein, Paul Wiggins, John Fisher, and Delmar Waln. Interment was in the Holyoke cemetery.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reese, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Haefer all of Akron, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ross of Elba, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs Russel Rinker of Brush, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Baker of Denver and Mrs. Ross's mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. O.G. Ray of Denver.

OBITUARY
Fred Elwood Ross, son of Claude and Elsie Ross, was born at Shenandoah, Iowa, August 23, 1908 and departed this life November 23, 1946 at his home in Holyoke, Colorado at the age of 38 years and 3 months.

On February 24, 1929 he was united in marriage to Marie Ray of Brush, Colorado and to this union were born three children, Kenneth Elwood, age 16, Max LeRoy age 14 years and Paul Eldon age 12 years.

Residing most of his life in Akron until 1938 when he came to Holyoke and opened his barber shop.

Being called to service in February 1944, he served 13 months in the South Pacific, receiving his honorable discharge November 10, 1945, and has since operated his shop where he was working at the time of his death.

In his untimely passing he is mourned by his wife and three sons, Kenneth, Max and Paul, and his mother, Mrs. Harry Reese, his brother Randall and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Erickson, Mrs. Norma Haefer all of Akron, another brother Marian Ross of Richmond, California, two sisters, Mrs. Francis Baker of Denver and Mrs. Leona Rinker of Brush, Colorado and an uncle, Clyde Ross and family of Elba, Colorado.

His father preceded him in death in 1936. Besides this he will be sadly missed by many relatives and a host of friends.

I would be Fred Ross' great grandson. If anyone has any information on Fred and his death please share.
