Sydenham Cemetery

I have come across a number of burials in the Sydenham Cemetery in Christchurch that have their addresses listed as Asylum.
There are five separate graves covering the period Nov 1906 - Jan 1907.
Next to them is a grave with four infants in it, with deaths from Oct 1906 - Jan 1907.

Does anyone have any idea what may have happened to these people who presumably were living at the local asylum and all died in a short period of each other?

Hi Kiwihawk

I am researching the Hagan family for a close friend whose ggrandfather was George Edward Hagan eldest son of James Patrick Edward Hagan. You have Edward in the Cleghorn Tree, born 1869 Lower Hutt. I cannot locate this birth in the historical records (must be one of the 197 alternatives for Hagan) and would like to know where you found the 1869 information and if you know who were his parents.

Any information would be appreciated.

Regards
Jen
