I'm doing a little research for my inlaws trying to find where my husband's great great grandparents came to the US from.
Here's the info I have.
Joseph Slobotzky b 1864 Russia. d 1928 New Orleans, LA This is written on his tombstone in Hebrew "Yosef, son of Avraham Slobotzky" His immigration year was 1884, but I do not know what port he came through. I am guessing NY as he and his wife who he married in NY lived there before moving to New Orleans.
Lena Lipman b 1864 Russia d. 1908 New Orleans,LA her tombstone reads in Hebrew in part "Fena, daughter of Mendel"
They had several sons Max, Israel, Lewis, and a daughter named Celia. Max is my husband's great grandfather.
We have the US information except for what port they came through and if they immigrated at the same time. What we are looking for is any information about how to track down the family history in Europe.
Thanks so much!

Re: Slobotzky and Lipman from Russia
Thank you for searching. Unfortunately all of those dates are too late as he immigrated in 1884. I will poke around with several of them possibly looking for a home in Russia/Poland. Better than what I currently have.
