Can anyone provide the address of the appropriate archives that may have birth records for Steierdorf, Romania? Also what forms, fees, etc. may be needed. We are trying to locate the birth record of my husband's grandfather, August Zaruba, who was born in 1872 in the Banet region of Hungary.

Now Steierdorf is a district of the city named ANINA, jud. Caras - Severin. You can try to contact the Catholic church there. I was born in Steierdorfanina, but now I don't live there. If necessary I can obtain more info.

I have had excellent results with the local archives for 1860's-1890's. Relatives were Roman Catholic and obtained marrige dates and birth dates last week. Address is:
