I am looking for any information on my g-g grandfather MArtin Kodrik. His father was beleived to be John Kodrik from Hungary. John and his wife had 4 children...Martin, Emerick, John and Mary. John settled in Budapest, but Martin came to the US....I think !! If anyone can help me along these lines, please drop me an e-mail.

The Ellis Island website is listing 3 KODRIKs passing thru that port to America. There is Marton/Martin Kodrik passing thru in 1906, he does have that he is Slovak and there is Finrich (Imrich on the manifest)too. Imrich is going to Pittsburgh, PA br-in-law Johann Slomka. Marton is going to his brother Kodrik Youre (could be Juraj/George).

The Slovak phone site at www.zoznamst.sk is listing the name Kodrik.

You will need to locate a name of a town for you ancestor in order so you can research. The LDS-Mormons have filmed church records so when you do have that town name, check out their website for films which you can order for a small fee
and gather ancestral information.

My husband Rick Mehigh's mother's mother's name is Kodrik and we directly trace to Martin John Kodrik. We are trying to trace his ancestry. Any help you can give would be great.

Most likely of Slovak ethnicity, given that many Slovaks from northern Hungary were settled here at various times, especially in the early 18th century.

Your husband's mother(Mary Ann) is my cousin. Your husband's grandmother(Bertha) was my father's (Ludvik) sister. We received most of our information from Mary Ann and from Mary Ann's cousin, Cheryl. Don't think we have any more information than you already have. Gene
