I have recently found an article about a murder in 1869 at a house of ill-repute in Stringtown. Where was Stringtown? The article stated; "The house is situated about a half mile west of the bridge, on the north side of the Pike..."
Just curious! Thank you! Ruth Gaboury

Stringtown refers to the homes literally strung out along and immediately adjoining Washington Street (the National Road) west of the White River bridge, to which the article is referring.
