I am trying to find any information on my husbands mother Ruth laura Wendt born in Detmold in 1931. She moved to England in the 1950's, was married to a Balston and then to Welch. Moved to Australia in 1960's. She had a lot of siblings who i believed remained in germany. her father was FRANZ Wendt born 1899 in Detmold, he was a truck driver and her mother was called Elisabeth.
Any help, information, ideas on how to find the family would be really great.

I'm currently researching on the Wendt line, although a little farther back. The Wendt family that I'm researching dwelt in Wobble, Lippe, a small parish near Detmold. It is a place to start looking if you don't have any other clue. Good luck and if you get back to around 1815 in Wobble, I will probably be researching there as well.
