RE: John C. Riedel.. we find that the Ogallala cemetery has 3 Riedels listed as buried there. Those being Jessie J. Riedel..Dec. 07, 1984, Martin Riedel..Feb. 12, 1985, and Virgil Riedel..March 19, 1975. All three have obituaries printed in the Keith County News and available on the Goodall City Library microfilm. However nothing found regarding John C. and wife Lydia mentioned in the obituaries of the Keith County News on the dates listed on your posted reply by Jean. Martin, according to the obituaries was a brother of John C Riedel Jessie was Martin's wife and Virgil was a son who died at age 48, in 1975. Martin and Jessie also have two other children,Harold who is my neighbor passed away last month. A daughter is still in the area and maybe could help you out on your quest. The Reidels were early settlers in the area southeast of Ogallala and were charter members of the St. John's Lutheran Church in that area. Probably the curch would have some information regarding the family. The obituaries that are on the microfilm can be printed and sent to you if interested.
