I'm looking for my great great grandfather Josef Meleg. He died sometime between 1903 and 1906 and lived in Bokony, Hungary. He was married to Maria Ruzsinsky and had two children Joseph and Elizabeth and died shortly before Maria and the children moved to America. Maria remarried a Joseph Tauber in or around 1906.

Have you checked out the church records for Bokony? Presuming that this family was Greek Catholic, you should find them all in there. Kindly indicate if you have already done this, or if you do not know how to access those records.

Maria Meleg and her children immigrated in 1906 to her sister, Erzsebet Ruzsinski, in Philadelphia. Erzsebet immigrated in 1904 (listed under the spelling Erzsi Rufsinski). She was accompanying her sister, Julia Konya, and Julia's son, Karoly, to Julia's husband, Sandor, in Philadelphia.

As far as Maria, thank you so much for providing her sisters name. I knew she was going to stay with her sister in Philadelphia but I never knew her name. How did you find her sister?

Saw your posting -- been looking for you since your family came from Bokony, Hungary and you posted family from my father side of the family. My maiden name was Hassender.
