Wallonia Communes
I am looking for the correct commune that would have the records for the village of Schockville south of Martelange and
north of Arlon, Belgium for the early 1800;s. Thank you for
any assistance. JES

The purpose of the post if to make people, who are interested in communes, aware of the Interfaith Order of the
Lax
Observance. This is a single monastic order or religious commune which embraces all of the world's religions. This is a growing movement with a very dangerous but rewarding humanitarian mission. It is currently comprised of a single monastery and several nomadic monks at large.
Details about this order can be seen by visiting the monastery's website at
http://www.interfaithmonastery.org

Thank you for your reply concering the Belgian communes.
Can you also tell me where I would find the largest
genealogy archive for the
Province
de Luxembourg?
I am especially interested in published genealogies.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you for responding. I learned that the Arlon State
Archives has a very nice collection of microfilm for
Walloonia communes. I am still looking for a library or
archive that has published genealogies or something similar
to the
German
familienbuche.

Dear Mr. Roland,
Your previous answer was very helpful, and I was able to find the correct microfilm for Schockville. I am now looking
for the correct commune or parish for Athus/Athem, Prov. de
Luxembourg about 1720-1730 (now Belgium). Could you help me
once again ? Thank you.

You should look for AUBANGE.
Baptism: 1618- 1683 & 1729-1795
Marriages: 1729-1795
Burials: 1729-1795
No indexes before 1729.

Thank you for responding to my request about Athus/Athem.
However the baptism/birth date I am looking for is about
1723-26. Do you have any suggestions where I might look?
Also I am curious about why there is a gap in the baptismal dates.
