I have an Obit for Adam Burns D: Sep 29 1939, however I was not given the newspaper name or date of publication for this obit. Would anybody be able to tell me the name of the newspaper that it would have been published in 1939?

He died in Salem, Oregon

The name of the newspaper today is Statesman Journal. Before this name it was The Capital Journal. This may help, but not sure.

Salem had two daily newspapers for many years, but I'n not certain of the published dates. They combined into the Statesman Journal. The second earlier paper was the Oregon Statesman. The City of Salem library has the old papers on microfilm and will do look-ups for a $5 fee. Their email request service is not currently working and they ask you call them at 503-588-6052.
