Would like to know more about the Treakle's who resided in Lancaster County, VA:
James W. Treakle married Louisa B. Bridgeman on Oct. 15, 1836.
James W. Treakle married Mary Dameron on July 15, 1848.
James Treakle married Mary Ann Yerby on April 7, 1846.
James W. Treakle appears on the 1850 Federal Census for Lancaster, anyone have more info on the Treakle's?

I have Thorton Treakle in my database because of his second wife: Addie Harper. According to courthouse information, he was 58 when he married Addie on October 15, 1896 in Essex Co VA and he was a widower. He was from Lancaster Co and a farmer. His parents were John S and Fannie Treakle.

Addie E. Harper was born April 12, 1851 in Woodbine Cottage in Ozeana in Essex Co VA. She was the daughter of James Francis and Nancy Ware Greenwood Harper. I don't believe Addie and Thornton had any children; she was 45 when they married. Addie died December 28, 1935 and is buried in Clarksbury Methodist Cemetary, Amburg, Middlesex Co VA.

George YerbyIII, b. 17??? Lancaster Co.VA, d. 1801 Probably Richmond Co.,VA. son of George Yerby Jr. and Sarah "Sally" Gibson m. on Oct 11, 1796 in Richmond Co. VA to Elizabeth Treackle b. March 17, 1776 Northampton Co. VA, d. Feb 8, 1837 in Northampton Co VA d/o Col. Thomas III and Elizabeth Treackle. After George Yerby III died, Elizbeth married John Upshur, date unknown. George and Elizabeth had one son, Dr. George Treackle Yerby.

Dr. George Treackle Yerby b. 1782 in Lancaster Co. VA d. unk. He married on April 5, 1824 in Northampton Co. VA, Charlotte H. Jacob, b. 1787 in Northampton Co. VA. Parents unknown. George T. Yerby was a physician and also a delegate to the VA legislature for 16 yrs. He was counted on both 1850 and 1860 Northampton Co. VA Census.

George T. and Chalotte Yerby had two daughters, Susan and Anna "Annie" Yerby.

Susan Yerby b. 1829 in Northampton Co. VA m. on Dec. 11, 1856 to Col. Richard Henry Bowdoin. susan was his second wife. Children, if any, by this marriage unknown. After Col. Richard H. Bowdoin died, susan Yerby Bowdoin m. Richard Henry Rush, on Dec. 11, 1856. Richard H. Rush, b. Jan 14, 1825 in London England d. Oct 17, 1893, s/o Richard Rush and Catherine Eliza Murray. Susan and Richard H. Rush had 6 children.

Anna " Annie" Ruch Yerby b. 1831/34 m. Hugh Kerr of Accomack Co. VA ( no other info).

Hildred, thank you for your prompt and informative reply. Quite a few surprises. I did not know that (any Treakle) Elizabeth Treakle married into the Yerby family in 1776. I have two Yerby marriage records:
Elizabeth Yerby & William Treakle, May 15, 1837, Lancaster Co., Va
Mary Ann Yerby & James Treakle, April 20, 1846, same place.

Deb, you filled in some missing information on Thorton that I didn't have. I was aware of the marriage date but the record didnt' identify the county. Thanks you. I have a marriage between Jno. S Treakle & Frances Hutchinson on June 13, 1828 in Lancaster County, VA. This could be Fannie & John. Thought you might like to know.

I would be interested in any Yerby family information you might have gathered from Lancaster County, VA prior to 1775. I do have some scant information on Thomas Yerby. I am especially interested in him b. apprx. 1657. Many thanks.
