Ruth's Connecticut Death Index lists her spouse as Vincent Lapenta- the 1958 Hartford Directory lists a Vincent and Ruth M. Lapenta living on Amherst Street in Hartford. The name and address matches the information in the article on the fire and the death index.

My dad and cousins CALLED him Mr. Jim. It could have been a middle name and that is why I can't find him. I just found the disaster story today, though I knew it second hand. I spaced that the Death index called him Vincent. I will have to talk to dad some more. Thanks for the link and the heads up! :)
