Not sure if you are still on this board. I just happened upon these names yesterday while doing a search through cemetaries. This family group is located at Nye Cemetary in Athens Ohio. Here are what the Graves Show:

Cook, Durinda Mingus b. 1816 d. unknown
"A wife of Silas Cook Married 3 April 1840 Athens Ohio"

Lorinda Cook b. 1825 d. Nov. 26, 1877 "Wife of S. Cook"

Silas Cook b. Sep. 15, 1788 d. Mar. 5, 1878

Cook, John Jay b. Jul. 30, 1852 d. Jun. 21, 1931
Cook, Elizabeth E. Stevenson b. May, 1852 d. unknown
"Married John J Cook 1873 Dover Township"
Cook, Ira Lee b. Jun., 1888 d. 1907 (Child of John/Elizabth)

Thats all I know as to whats on the graves. This isn't my family line but I hope this helps.

Trish

Thanks for the information from the cemetery. I have this about his second wife, Durinda and their children, but what I'm looking for is the first wife of Silas Cook. My line is down Julia's line. Julia is the daughter of Silas and his first wife. We've come to a wall with this. I have a feeling that his first wife died before moving to Ohio in 1835. Some place along the line someone said that they thought his first wife's name was Lydia Cole, but I cannot prove it. So it is a mystery.
