Wingate Family

Joan (Wingate) Rurka  (View posts) Posted: 3 Jun 2001 1:26PM GMT
I am searching for any information regarding the WINGATE family. My father was James Henry WINGATE and from what I know he had one son by another marriage, I believe named Norman. He married my mother, Pearl L.Eminizer and they had me. From what I know I am the only child left from my dad.

He also had a brother, Clarence WINGATE married to Ameila and one daughter Clara. He also had two sisters, Anne and Patsy and another brother William. If anyone has any information regarding this please email me.

Thank you
Joan WINGATE Rurka

Was the family in PA. I had Wingate ancestors in Central PA.
My earliest one is Franklin Wingate born 1822 & died 1868.He had at least 6 children. Several boys worked on the railroad and three (including my greatgrandfather) died in RR accidents. Franklin's wife was Margaret Bell

Thanks. That fills in some blank spaces.John Lemon (the 8th one) was my g-gr-father. His wife was Elizabeth Dosler b. 26 Apr. 1861. The had 5 children. if you want the info.I have it on them. Their d. Pearl was my gr-mother.
John L. also died in a R.R. accident. he was trying to deadhead from Kane to see some relatives, slipped on the ice and fell under the moving train. DOD 30 Nov 1911.
I have copies of very florid graphic newss paper articles on his death as well as those of Alex & James.
I'm really trying to get to family of Eliz Dosler Wingate as she was first gen. American of German parents.

My g-g-grandmother was "Lizzie" Wingate's sister Margaret Dosler Englert Copp (1859-1933), who ended up in York County, Pennsylvania, along with sister Priscilla Dosler Emigh and their mother Margaret Flinch Dosler Black. The information I have is posted on Ancestry and Rootsweb under "Copp & O'Neil." Please contact me if you're still interested.
