I am seeking information about the descendants of Cyrus Warren who migrated to Southeast Washington in the 1870’s.

Cyrus married Emeline/Amelia/Emily Hartung, a native of Germany in 1845.

He had a daughter, Julia Abigail, born c.1846 in Ohio. All his other children were born in Lawrence County, Missouri.

In the 1870’s his sons Jason and John Cyrus migrated to Asotin County, Washington. Daughters Ida Jane, Amanda Lois, and Elvira apparently came with them. The mother, Amelia, followed but Cyrus stayed in Missouri and is buried there.

Jason stayed in Asotin County for some time and then moved to Gridley, California.

John Cyrus is buried in Dixie, Walla Walla County, Washington.

Amelia is buried in Peola, Garfield County, Washington

Ida Jane is buried in Idaho.

Amanda is buried in Clarkston, Asotin County, Washington.

Elvira is buried in Spokane, Washington

Emma is buried in Kalispell, Montana.

Any information regarding this Warren line would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, the best way that I know of to find descendants is to find the obits of people listed in the 1930 Census. After I find the obit, I use www.switchboard.com to find contact info.

I found Jason Warren and family living in 1910 in Gridley, Butte Co., CA. Jason, b. MO, 56 yrs old, marr 30 yrs, farmer home farm; Lulu E., wife, b. IL, 48, had given birth to 8 children & 5 were alive in 1910; Myrle, son, b. WA, 18; Alice P., b. WA, 17 and Harvey E., b. WA, 15.

In 1920 most of the same family is living in Gridley. Merl, head household, b. WA, 27, general farmer; Lilie, wife, b. IL, 19; Lulu E., mother, b. IL, 58, widow; and Alice M., sister, b. WA 25, single, sales lady clothing store.

I don't know how to get obits from these different counties in CA but you can post that question on the respective County Boards. Then look up the descendants on www.switchboard.com for contact info.

An Allen Alfred Warren filled out his World War I Draft Reg. card Sept. 12, 1918 in Dixie, Walla Walla Co. He was born 1 Aug 1899; laborer for L. Lanning, Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co. His Nearest Relative=Margarete Justena Warren, mother, Dixie. He was medium height & build with blue eyes & brown hair.

In 1920 Allen & most his family were living in Dixie. C. John, 68; Margreete, 56; and Allen, 20, b. WA, single.

In 1930 an Allen A. Warren & family livedin Seattle, King Co., WA. Allen A., b. WA, 30, marr @ 23, driver transfer; Velma I., wife, b. WA, 23, marr @ 17; Dwayne L., son, b. WA, 1 4/12ths; Vincent C. Roff, brotherlaw, b. WA, 21, marr @ 20, Mechanic auto; and Anna M. Roff, sister, b. WA, 18, marr @ 17.

An Allen A. Warren b. 1899, Walla Walla Co., WA enlisted in the U. S. Army 4 Aug 1942, McChord Field, WA. He had two yrs high school, divorced without dependents. Source: U. S. World War II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946.

John Cyrus Warren was born 30 May 1861 in Lawrence, MO. He died 28 January 1939 in Dixie, WA.
He married Margaret Justina Lanning, born 28 Nov 1863 in Otter Creek, Linn County, Iowa. They married on 11 Dec 1881 in Dixie. Margaret died on 10 Nov 1937 in Dixie. She was the daughter of Leonard N. Lanning and Pheoba Jane Andrews. (This info was compiled by an Audrey Rozanoff. Other information was found from a family tree owned by a Lowell S. Thomas, seadragon5@aol.com Since the info identifies Edna Lillian Warren, this person might be so related. I can't identify if this is a current email address, last update was Sept 2007).

is a marriage certificate for a Dwayne L. Warren, marriage to Loretta G. Sargent, both from Litchfield, California. The marriage was in Walla Walla on 10 June 1954. Witnesses Joseph Roff and Shawn J. Roff

--There is a Dwayne L. Warren, born 12 April 1928, died 26 January 1996. His Social Security Number, 534-20-2972 was issued in Washington. His "last residence" was Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona.
- In the Social Security Death Index, it lists persons that have died whose deaths are reported to the Social Security Administration. The "last residence" is not necessarily were a final benefit check had gone. It could be the address where the Death Benefit was sent, today about $255.00, to a spouse or other person that paid for burial, funeral home/Attorney/etc. It also could be just from a notification of their death. It is not necessarily where they died, it "usually is; but it is NOT a exact address identifier.
