Hi.
We were passing thru Maybell in the first part of May of this year and were treated to a local horse drive of 500 head of horses.
What is the history and story of this event ? And , when will it be held again.
We live in Oregon, and would like to plan our vacation next year around the event.

First time checking this board. Surprised no one has replied to your query. The horse drive occurs twice a year. The horses winter in Brown's Park and are rounded up in the spring, usually the first week of May and are brought back in the fall. I am unsure of the exact days. The round up has gotten to be quite an event with many people paying to work the drive. I believe the herd belongs to the Mantle Ranch.
