SETH and MARY SAVILLS lived in Camden County late 1700s/ early 1800s. Their children: THOMAS, SETH, MALACHI, JAMES, BETSY ( married Samuel Gregory ), POLLY ( married John Grandy ) and ASCHAH ( married an Etheridge ). Son JAMES is my Great X 3 grandfather

Is there a Savills/Sivills cemetery ? Anyone else looking for info on these people ?

James had a daughter named Elizabeth (of course !) and she married JOHN A. MCKIMMEY ( b. 1823, d. 1844. ) around 1852. ELIZABETH died and JOHN then married Annie McPherson.
Where is Elizabeth buried ?

John and Eliz.'s daughter , SUSAN MCKIMMEY , married OSCAR SEYMORE, an orphan who is 8 years old in the 1870 Camden Co. Census. OSCAR and SUSAN had 15 children. After the children were mostly grown they moved to Eliz. City where Oscar was a Patrolman.

What happened to Oscar's brother, John, and sister Mary E. ? Both are in the 1870 Census. Is anyone working on this line ?

Are you still looking for Savells or Savills? There were originally some in Norfolk. I have in my line a Courtney Savells, born about mid-1730's and was the daughter of Solomon Savells; she married John Curling in Norfolk before moving down to Currituck. I'd bet yours originated there too.

I have an ancestor named Solomon Savells living in St Brides Parish, Norfolk Co, Virginia.
He married Sarah Nicholls early 1730's; she was the daughter of John Nicholls.
He died abt 1769; she died mid 1770's.
One of their children was a daughter was Courtney Savells, born abt 1735 in St Brides
Parish in Norfolk Co., Va. She married John Curling in the early 1750's, and my line is then
Curling down to my Mother. If you look at early Norfolk, Lower Norfolk, and Currotuck records
you will find more Savills/Savells

Thank you for the info on Savells in Va. I always felt they may have had connections there. My Savills show up in late 1700s on court records for Camden Co, as jurors - also Wiils in Camden Co, Bills of Sale etc are all at court house there.
