Maria Eliza (or Mary Elizabeth) Dickey
Josephine Nicewonger.

He had 8 children:
Frances (Fanny),married Leasey/Liesy
Louis (died young)

Margaret, married Leasey/Liesy
Virginia, married Salmon
Henry, married Potter
Crawford, married McCormick
George.

I believe that Henry and Crawford stayed in the Stockton area.

not a relative but would like to help if you need death dates 1905-2000

That is very kind of you. I have his dates already, (1825-1901) and quite a lot of his ancestors on his mother's side. I have a family tree drawing going back to her immigrant ancestor.

Some years ago, his grandsons (?) gave an interview to a local (Stockton?) paper and spoke of his papers and a box of old letters. I was hoping to contact the descendant who might still have those and would be willing to exchange copies and information.

His children by his second wife were:
Margaret Josephine Hitchcock (1871-1953) married Liesy
Virginia M. Hitchcock (1872-1955) married Salmon
Henry Harrison Hitchcock (1879-1965) married Potter
Crawford Claiborne Hitchcock (1881-1952) marriedMcCormick
George C. Hitchcock (no dates, no marriage)
