What should you do when all you know is that Leo Vincent Gates MD died in Arizona Sept 1962? That came from the Social security death index. I cannot find out where in Arizona he died or if there was an obit which is what I really would like. Any idea's????????

I found the information you listed and I thank you very much but I still do not know where to go to now to find his obit or death record because I do not know what county he died in or the day. It does not come up in ancestry except for September 1962 and his social security number.

A search for Leo Gates here: http://recorder.maricopa.gov/recdocdata/getrecdataselect2.as...
results in a couple of possible hits. If this is your guy, he and his wife bought and sold property in Biltmore Estates (Phoenix) and then bought land in Scottsdale (suburb NE of Phoenix). You could also search for his wife to see if she later sold the Scottsdale property.

If you decide he was probably in Scottsdale at the time of his death, you could contact cemeteries or mortuaries in Scottsdale.
