Hi
I have been trying to find any information on the above and have struck brick walls everywhere. They are the children of my dads unknown step brother which he never knew existed (until recently)

Arthur Sim born 1926 in Newport, Essex, Heredfordshire
Dorothy Sim born 1923, Newport, Essex, Heredfordshire

Both are the children of James Sim born 1904 Salford Lancashire and May Pugh. They were married in 1921 in Salford, Lancashire

Is there anyway to trace where these may have lived, or if they have married or died? They could possible be alive still but would be in their 80's now.

Any hints on where I could look would also be appreciated as I live in Austalia

Thanks heaps for reading this

Kerryn

Where did you get the information from. In 1911
James is living in Salford, Lancashire, but he married in Cheshire. After 1912, you can search for births, cross checking with the maiden name of the mother, but there are no children registered names Sim, who have a mother with the maiden name of Pugh. The only thing you can do is obtain a copy of the marriage certificate, which will give the age of the bride and groom, and also the name of their respective fathers. If May Pugh was older than James, it could be that she was a widow, and this would mean that her children would show a different 'maiden name' but attempting to cross check children named Dorothy and Arthur, does not show any with the same maiden name of a mother.

I think you are on the wrong track. There are two marriages of men named either Sim or Sims, marrying women called Pugh. Charles, Dorothy, James, Margaret, and Arthur were all born in Wales, and appear to be the children of James E Sims, who married

Yes that is correct my James married May Pugh and they had 2 children going by the last name of Sims. Is there any way I can trace these children?
Thanks Kerryn

Very difficult to trace people who were born in 1923 and 1926. Are you positive that they are the children of your James and May. Dorothy probably married years ago, and looking at marriages since about 1940 onwards, there are literally dozens of Dorothy Sims and Arthur Sims getting married. Therefore, you would not know what name to look for in connection with Dorothy, and Arthur could be living anywhere in the British Isles or even abroad.
There was another marriage of a James E Sims to Sarah Pugh.

The marriage of James E. Sims to Sarah Pugh was in Wales. and there are five children, registered in Wales who are called Sims, but have a mother with the maiden name of Pugh.

SIMS Charles C P Wales Radnorshire, Rhayader 1920
SIMS Dorothy Wales Monmouthshire, Newport (Monmouthshire) 1923
SIMS James E P Wales Radnorshire, Rhayader 1924
SIMS Margaret I P Wales Radnorshire, Rhayader 1925
SIMS Arthur Wales Monmouthshire, Newport (Monmouthshire) 1926

All of these children were born in Wales.
