I was given some copies of marriage certicates of my family line of Sweaneys after my Aunts death. I have no information on these other than the certificate. here is what i have, I am hoping to connect with some fgamily out there.
Thomas Sweaney married Lydia Cox Nov. 14 1829 in Jackson County Indiana.
Susan Sweaney married William Stanfield March 9th 1830 in Jackson County Indiana.
Kiziah Sweaney married Samuel Stanfield July 9th 1832 in Jackson Co. Indiana.
Eliza Ann Sweaney married George Easter May 2nd 1839 in Jackson County Indiana.
Lewis Sweaney married Julia Ann Youtsey August 24th 1833 in Jackson County Indiana.
Elizabeth Youtsey married Wells Gilbert August 6th 1834 in Jackson County Indiana.
John Sweaney Sr. married Elizabeth Huff October 21st 1848 in Jackson County Indiana.
I have Youtseys ,Sweaneys in my family but I have no clue where to place these..
The Sweaney i do have is Louisa J. Sweaney married Geroge Washington Youtsey. Her parents were James M. Sweaney, mother was Rachel Turnbull.I am direct descendant of Louisa and George. Any Help out there?....Cheryl

It seems the Stanfield and Sweany (Sweaney) families intermarried quite a bit. I am descended from a Susan Stanfield and we have compiled some information that includes five Sweanys:

Susan Sweany b. 06-01-1814
Keziah Sweany, b. 1812
Susan Sweany b. 04-05-1816
Mary Sweany b. 1834
Cynthia Ann Sweany, no birthdate but show a wedding
date of 09-02-1860.

We have no "proof" of any relationships, just sharing information we've collected from various places.

My paternal grandmother was Susan Rilda Stanfield, b.
11-22-1894. Her father was William H. Stanfield, b.
08-26-1852. His father was John Stanfield, b. 04-15-1816 who married Susan Sweany. She had previously been married to his cousin, William Stanfield who died.

and has information on her lines. Her third greatfather is Samuel Stanfield born 1807 and married Keziah Sweaney in 1832 in Indiana. Samuel was a brother to John Stanfield who married Susan Sweaney.

You have your information correct? I have a HUGE Sweaney tree and a Sweaney website! I have your Louisa Sweaney married to George W. Youtsey. Her parents are James Runnion Sweany born July 27 1791 in Virginia married a Rachel Rider. Had children : Mary F, Mordecai, Louisa J. and William H. Sweany... I have the Sweaney family all the way back to Daniel Sene from Ireland. Let me know if you would like some information. You are right the names change a lot.

I am interested in learning more about this Sweaney line.
I descend from Ruth Sweaney (or Sweany) who married Ebenezer Bunton, Jr. Ebenezer and Ruth Bunton along with her brother John Sweany and his wife Catherine Ruddick were founding members of Liberty Baptist Church in Jackson County, Indiana.
John Sweany was born 5 April 1780 and he and Ruth are children of John and Keziah Sweany who I am trying to learn more about.
