Surnames: Tankarville, Tancredville
Im looking for info on a John De Tankerville whom was born in France in 1570 and died in England. His name can also be Jean De Tankerville. One of his sons name was John Chamberlain born 1595 in England died 1663 in United States. I was following the Chamberlain name back from my grandma and hit a brick wall in France with Tankerville. If anyone can find anything else with maybe his parents names and what not would be great. Thanks in advance.

I ran into the same road block.
He was a direct relative of mine.
Did you ever find any info on John/Jean of Tankerville?

I have not found anything new but I haven't searched much lately. Are you also following the chamberlain name? Maybe our part of my moms side of the family?

Yes, I have direct lineage to Richard Chamberlain coming over shortly after the Mayflower.
His father was John Chamberlain (England), grandfather was Jean/John de Tankerville (Normandy, France).

Richard was married 3 times, Sarah Bugbee, #2 is my bloodline.
They had son Benjamin, whose son was John Sr Chamberlain, then John Sr. beget John Jr (Old Quail) Chamberlain, whose son Amos is where by bloodline descends from).

Do our trees cross?

Richard is my 10th Great Grandfather. The names you listed are direct links from my grandmother. I believe are trees do cross paths. The chamberlains are the farthest name I can take back along with my Grandfathers name Porter. Does the Kern family tree pop up as a hint anywhere in yours since we have the same people on are trees?

No Kern's that I can see in my tree.

Could you share your Grandmother's name and her direct Chamberlain ancestors?
I will see if I can link up to somebody in your tree.

I am married to a Porter, by the way.

Also, it may be easier to use my email address:

My grandma is Marjorie Luise Chamberlain. Her dad was William Perry Chamberlain and mother was Ethel B Chamberlain. If you follow them it runs into your Richard and so on. My grandfather on that side was Emery George Porter.

Do you have an approximate birth year on William and possibly place of birth so I can more easily find his info?
Or, better yet, do you have that info on his father as well.
I do not mean to snoop, but it is not often I get to chat with somebody that likely shares branches in my tree.

William was born February 4th 1896. His dad was James Addison Chamberlain, born August 20th 1872 and died February 28th 1926. Hope that helps. No death date on William
