Nancy's father was Richard Carter, brother, George and a sister, Patience. The father lived in Halifax; died in 1816. My memory says I received this information via e-mail from an excellent source. I'll look it up and let you know with source's approval; of course. Edward.

Edward, I am wondering if there is any connection of your Richard CARTER who died in 1816, Halifax Co., VA and Thomas CARTER? Both are listed in the 1782 Tax List for Halifax Co. Thomas had a son George, but I don't have the names of other siblings, Many thanks for any help. Helen

Hi James--My record show the parents of Robert Cole (married 31 Dec 1789 Nancy Carter) was the son of James Cole and Lucy Petty. I have no record on Lucy Petty's Parents. James Cole was the son of John Cole and Ann Livingstone. This John Cole was the son of James Cole (of Middlesex Co., Va) and Sarah ___, married ca, 1717, d.- 23 Sep 1723. Most of my information is from Joe Cole (died 1997)who lived in Halifax Co., Va, Rt 1, Box 191, Vernon Hill, Va 24597. I am also searching for information on Ann Livingstone's parents and siblings.
