I found an abstract of the Will of Patrick
McGee as follows:
Pb. 463 Book "D" 1820-1823 25 Jun 1821 Will of Patrick McGee: I will that my daughters Elizabeth,
Patty and
Christiana, and son James shall have no further part of my estate. Second, my sons Jonn B., William S., Paul J., Enoch R. and Jonathan shall have land on Corn
Creek in Gallitan Co. KY. That is if Jonathan pays me $100.00; if not, that is to be reduced from his part. Third, my daughters Rachael, Sarah Ann, Lydia and Ann Mariah shall have $1000.00 at my death. My wife is to have ht balance of my property if she remains a widow and to be disposed of as she sees fit. But, if she remarries, it is to be divided among the nine children here mentioned. My beloved wide, Rachel, and my son John B., shall act as my executors. Witnesses: Charles Call, John B. Hornbaugh, James
Melton. Recorded 21 Oct. 1822.
I have the land records for 1785-1818 and there are many listings for a Patrick
McGee and some for a James
McGee but none are together. It seems like there might be another James
McGee (perhaps the brother of Patrick) and I think maybe their father was John
McGee. Let me know if you have any questions - I will try to help!
