Searching for Information on Robert Anderson and his son John Thomas (?John
Robert) Anderson. John Thomas was my g.grandfather from Burgeo, Newfoundland. He married Jemima Gunnery and they had 1 child, my grandmother, Jessie Anderson (Conrad). She was born the year he died , 1900 off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. Robert Anderson was married to Elizabeth Stickland daughter of Henry Strickland and Sarah Skeard. It is believed that the original families of Anderson came from Scotland, but I have no documentation or any idea from which part. I have a book "A Souvenir of Burgeo's Come Home Year in 1988" which includes a diary of the area written by Joseph Small in 1925. The history is hard to track as there were no records as far as I can find that date back to the mid 1700-early 1800. Any info would be helpful.

hi,JESSE was the daughter of WILLIAM HENERY ANDERSON and SUSAN ANDERSON.brothers FREDERICK jan. 22 1899,HURBERT OCT.20 1900,SISTERS LUCY DEC.14 1906,BERTHA and FRANCIES who died at childbirth.SUSAN ANDERSON was born around 1880 died 1913 1915. parents JOSEPH ANDERSON and FRANCIS BILLARD.JOSEPH born 1854 and francis 1855.HENERY WILLIAM WAS 14 YEARS OLDER THAN SUSAN.WILLIAM HENERY was the son of WILLIAM ANDERSON and ELIZABETH FARRELLI. they were married on sept.2 1858 at SANDBANKS BURGEO. JOSEPH father of SUSAN was the son of WILLIAM ANDERSON and SUSANNAH POOLE.he died aug 20 1919.JESSE married JONAS WELLS.a son fred lives here at BURGEO. HOPE you can use some of this.ron.

Hi, I am the grandaughter of Jessie Anderson, b.23 Jun 1900 daughter of John Thomas Anderson and Jemima Gunnery, m.8 Nov 1898 in Burgeo. Jessie was born Jun 1900 and John drowned in Oct. 1900. Jemima then married Hugh Matthews (previously married to Deborah Caines)in 1903. He had 8 children. They had 2 of their own children, Ron and Joyce, as well as Jessie and an adopted daughter Fannie, who was Jemima's niece, daughter of her brother, Tom Gunnery. after researching i find i,m related to hugh matthews bjan 1854 son of william matthews b 1809 and susan anderson b 1815 daughter of edward anderson and ester ,edward b 1786 is a brother of william.also related to deborah caines ,the caines came from lamaline burin dist ,they are relatives of my mothers mosher side of family from fortune nfld.as well one of hugh and deborah children ernest,s daughter martha married joseph gunnery .i have lots of info on andersons to much to put here.i have a tree on ancestry if you send me your e mail i.ll add you so you can view it .my e mail is drgelue@hotmail.com
