Seeking a Researcher for Courthouse info

Hi,

I am looking for someone inexpensive who would be able to look up land transfer/sale & possibly Estate Sale at Courthouse.

My ancestor (Henry Gipp) was bequeathed a home and property in Milan in 1887 by his Aunt. I have the property & house description.

The Estate sale IF any would be after Dec 26, 1893 for Pauline Gipp or Henry Gipp later for Old Milan.

Any help would be deeply appreciated,
Thank you,
Kathy

I sent an email to the recorder and here is a copy of what I got back.

We do not research property for the public. My staff is small and we are unable to research for the public and get the daily work completed; however, the historical society has volunteers that will come over to our office and search through our records; if you are interested. Their number is 812-689-3031. They have volunteers that come in from 1-4pm, Monday thru Friday. If you live close enough you are welcome to come in and research the records. We do not do searches for the public but we will help you with any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Tammy Borgman
Ripley County Recorder

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the info Tammy. I will see what the cost is & proceed from their.

I would dearly love to go to Indiana & search myself-unfortunately I am a resident of another state to far away.

Kathy
