I'm looking for the above named person. In 1915 & 1920 census images he appears, aged 7 & 11 living with mother and step father Wilfred and Josephine Beffre. By 1930 census he has disappeared. Only other possible trace I can find is in Border Crossing from US to Canada 1908 - 1935/ Immigration & Travel records here on Ancestry. I don't have access to this record and wondered if anyone would be willing to do a look up of this. He is listed as Euclide Terise, born 1908/09. St. Albans, Vermont.
I'd be very grateful for any help on this matter - I've been searching on and off for many years for him. He supposedly had a wife called Mabel and lived in Norwalk then Florida in later life...so far I've found no trace of that.
TIA,
Jules

It appears that he is in the 1925 RI Census as Euclide Beffre. Perhaps he was adopted by his step father.

I didn't know there was a 1925 census and never even considered he may have been adopted. I appreciate when someone takes the time to look and answer, especially with new info! Many thanks.

You're more than welcome. Are you familiar with the LDS site?
https://www.familysearch.org
It is free but you need to register (also free) to see the image. They have the 1925 RI census.
Good luck.

After hitting my "brick wall" with Euclide and his father several years ago, I gave up researching for a while. When Ancestry emailed the free 1940's records search a few days ago I have managed to get a few more snippets of information. This in turn led me to familysearch.org - BUT I hadn't searched for him as a Beffre (I've now viewed the image.)
Euclide's and his brother appear as Beffre in 1925 but in the 1930 census Elias is back to being a Theriac and continued to use that name until he died...so I assume it was an error made by the family and census taker at the time.
After 1925 Euclide seems to disappear which is why I think he may have gone to Canada.
Again, thanks for your input.
Jules
